Another innovation from the STK Performance stable is that of an Upgraded Volkswagen Camfollower which is suitable to use for Hydraulic & Solid applications. ( contact us for further details on converting these to Solid )

The Camfollower or Lifter can be used as a direct replacement on standard vehicles but is essentially developed to use when fitting a Performance Camshaft.

A standard production camshaft has a lift in the region of 10,1mm and the Performance Camshaft range starts at a lift of 11,1mm. The standard production camfollower has a top thickness of between 2mm – 2,5mm and generally  the additional lift from a Performance Camshaft causes a concave effect on the top of the lifter and eventually cracks or even worse breaks into pieces destroying most things in its path.

STK have an Uprated Performance Camfollower and have increased the thickness to 3mm (see illustration) this prevents the concave and catastrophic effects as seen with the standard camfollowers.

STK Camfollowers can be used on Standard & Performance engines for the following:

All Volkswagen Golf & Jetta 8V & 16V
Combi 2,3 / 2,5 / 2,6
Various Audi Applications including the  Audi 5 cylinder 20V – RS2 / S2

So , When it is time to replace your lifters insist on the STK Uprated Heavy Duty Camfollower set.

Ensure that New Camfollowers are fitted with a New Performance Camshaft.
